Some of our readers have asked about Camp Makwa and what we can share about it. Short answer, what is public only. Camp Makwa- is an indigenous led camp trying to stop Enbridge Line 3 pipeline. This is a “Front Line Camp” in Minnesota.
We follow the social media feeds like many other Water Protectors. We see the arrests and the escalation of activity. It is a serious situation that needs a Peaceful resolution.
“We are an Anishinaabe led group of water protectors dedicated to shutting down the construction of the Line 3 pipeline using non-violent direct action.” Makwa Initiative

These are water protectors on the ground defending the sacred. Winter is here and they are in need of support.
Our advice if you are headed to the camp? Go in a good way and plan on putting in work. These “spaces” are not for fame or motives other than the goals defined by the camp. “Direct Peaceful Action against Enbridge Line 3.”
